Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, made history on Friday evening, surpassing the legendary Segun Odegbami in Nigeria’s all-time top scorers chart.
The Galatasaray striker netted his 24th international goal during Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda in Kigali, moving one goal clear of Odegbami, who had 23.
Osimhen entered the match tied with the former Green Eagles star but wasted no time in breaking the deadlock.
In the 11th minute, he capitalized on a well-delivered free-kick from Ademola Lookman to put the ball in the net.
With this feat, the 26-year-old now sits just behind the late Rashidi Yekini, who remains Nigeria’s all-time leading scorer with 37 goals.
