The Renewed Hope Initiative, spearheaded by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is set to benefit at least 37,000 women nationwide through a recapitalization grant.
According to The PUNCH, this announcement was made on Thursday during a symbolic distribution of food items to Internally Displaced Persons with Disabilities and other vulnerable individuals in Benue State.
Represented by Mrs. Nana Shettima, the wife of the Vice President, Senator Tinubu revealed that the initiative will provide a N50,000 recapitalization grant to 1,000 women petty traders in each state and the Federal Capital Territory.
This grant is part of the RHI economic empowerment program.
Mrs Tinubu stated, “I am pleased to inform you that the governing council of the Renewed Hope Initiative have graciously approved a business re-capitalisation grant of N50,000 for 1000 women petty traders in each state and the FCT to support their businesses as part of our renewed hope initiative for women economic programme.”
The program is set to launch on August 22nd simultaneously across the country.
Mrs Tinubu emphasized that the initiative aims to support the underprivileged and align with President Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring food security and sufficiency nationwide.
In addition, a truckload of assorted food items will be donated for distribution to the targeted groups in the state.
Governor Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, represented by his deputy Sam Ode, expressed gratitude for the support provided to Benue women, especially those with disabilities and vulnerable individuals.
He assured that his administration would further aid in distributing these items to the most needy.
Alia, who referred to the President as both a father and friend to the state, also praised Vice President Kashim Shettima for his ongoing support and noted the significant benefits the state has received from the Renewed Hope Initiative.
