The Federal Government has allocated over N2 billion in the 2025 budget for the repair and renovation of the Federal Ministry of Justice’s headquarters in Abuja, as well as the Lagos zonal office and alternative power systems.
According to the appropriation bill, N2,027,859,896 is earmarked for the renovation, with an additional N200 million for the upkeep of office buildings and residential quarters.
N15 million is designated for the maintenance of office furniture, while N20 million is set aside for the upkeep of office and IT equipment.
Furthermore, N40 million will be used for the maintenance of plants and generators.
In contrast, for 2024, the Federal Government allocated N971,946,606 for repairs and renovations at the ministry’s headquarters and the Lagos zonal office.
On December 18, President Bola Tinubu presented the N49.7 trillion appropriation bill, titled “The Restoration Budget, Securing Peace, Building Prosperity,” before a joint session of the National Assembly.
Following the presentation, both the Senate and House of Representatives passed the budget for a second reading at their respective plenaries on December 19.
